By the Sea.
These pictures are a mixture of Wadsworth Fall State Park and West Haven beach. These were taking with my Canon EOS Rebel T3 (DSLR) camera. in my opinion my iPhone camera may have a better resolution.

These Pictures were taking with my iPhone Xs Max. this camera is amazing,  the first picture is West Haven beach. The other picture were taking today at Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown, Ct

  1. I'm glad you put up shots by both your Canon and iPhone. The engineers have built in some software tricks to enhance the pictures from the iPhone to make up from its limitations with the small sensor vs the large on on your Canon. The emerging field is called computational photography. For instance, to help with dynamic range limitations, your camera takes several shots, under exposing some and over exposing others (as well as normal exposure) then combines them into one HDR image (high dynamic range). They have put on quite a bit of sharpening too. Your Canon potentially still can take much better pictures but you have to know more and work harder for them. For instance, see on the 2nd image how the water in the falls is over exposed (too white)? Knowing how to meter for white water and using you exposure compensation adjustment dial would fix that... as would shooting in RAW, which the iPhone can't do. Knowing about minimum shutter speed while hand holding the camera helps with sharpness as does watching in your viewfinder when the auto focus is locked in....

So yes, in general, the images shot with the phone of the falls are better exposed and sharper... Apple takes over most of the decision making photographers used to have to learn about and the results are good.

I love the panorama at the beach... the composition is great with the empty chair centered in the frame and the horizon line of the water perfectly parallel to the top edge of the frame. Nice series... keep shooting!
