Edit for Amanda

I love the light and movement in this dramatic ocean shot... A minute in Photoshop was all it took to transform it a bit more...

-Straightened the horizon line, to make it parallel to the top of the frame using the crop tool.

-Using feathered selections with the lasso tool, I pulled up levels (CTRL>L) to enhance the brightness and contrast of the foreground water and balanced the light in the clouds... (including a small use of the clone tool to fill in a couple of very bright spots in the upper left)

The movement of light in the image is wonderful as is the movement of the water and the clouds.

  1. I love what these edits did to the image. I have to say, while I used to be great at the selection and feather tool, I'm not as good anymore. I tried to use it in a few photos but the edges never "feathered" out enough and it made the area stand out that much more.

    1. Dial the feather slider to the right until it starts to disappear. true enough... most users don't push the slider far enough.
