Edit for Sarah

Here's a possible interpretation of the wonderful dead fish image....  Converted to grayscale, darkened the midtones, removed the clam shell at the top and vignetted the outer edges a bit....

Shadows without a doubt...

This weekend I was able to capture some shadows with the lighting around the house, using objects around the house and photos of my lovely daughter, as she was so kind to pose in some of the images you will see. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Light and Shadow

I was out this afternoon at the Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield... I saw this nice composition of "light and shadow" and was thinking about your next (or previous, depending on where you are)  assignment... Here is an example of what I'd like you to think about...

Looking down... Outdoor furniture.... stone patio....

Sorry I'm a little late on the "By the Sea" assignment. These picture were taken at the West Haven beach.

Open spaces

Open spaces, I think are sometimes difficult to make interesting without something to draw the eye towards.

Getting up close can help change a perspective, like the below.

When there are multiple structures there is a chance for clutter but I think adding  equal parts of water, structures, and sky balances out the potential for clutter.

Examples of open spaces without an easily identifiable focal point.

On this one I tried to have the statue silhouetted against the evening sky. I know the light on the right is too bright, what would be the best way to balance it out?

Droplet Edits

Edits made to Droplet photo (suggested by Professor Nivens).  Still trying to figure out all of Photoshop features and how to darken certain areas.
