A bit out of order from our Syllabus, but wanted to share photos I've made so far. These photos (in order) were taken on our patio and front steps, on a hike in Litchfield, the hallway at work, and at Storm King in New York - if you haven't been and appreciate outdoor sculpture it's a must! (The Storm King photo was taken in the Fall, but I dug it out because I really enjoy it).
As far as edits, the black and white are obvious... I also cropped images, and adjusted the brightness/contrast. I think this helps to bring out more detail and to define it. I try to not add too many edits, as I can be distracted by too many edits rather than seeing the photo.
My favorites are the 2 just before Storm King. Perhaps the reason is the way the light on the bricks and the sharp focus on the bricks, anchors the composition. The repetition of the the same shadow design is a nice touch too. A main theme of the class is focal point and light... and how the two come together to create a strong, centered composition.
